International Folk Dance Festival in our city again

Nyírség Folk Dance Ensemble, cooperating with other important local communities, is organizing a valued folklore event again in Nyíregyháza: 9th Nyírség International Folk Dance Festival.

Our aim is to build bridges and open doors to the folklore world for the four main local folk art centres: Nyírség Folk Dance Ensemble, Szabolcs Folk Dance Ensemble, Igrice Folk Dance Ensemble and Figurás Folk Dance Ensemble and their children's groups.

The festival has a decades-old tradition: it was organized every 2-3 year from 1996 to 2009, with the support of the local government of Nyíregyháza City with County Rights. In 2017 we managed to recreate the tradition.

During the festivals, hundreds of dancers, musicians, singers of more than 10 dance groups  perform in several locations and bring joy to our city.
